This is a photograph taken from a lava tube. It was incredible playing with the light and creating them. Each time I see them, they remind me of the path to Abundance and how vital it is that we embrace BOTH giving and receiving.
Were you taught growing up as a child that you were supposed to be nice and share with others? Does it make you feel good when you help someone out, give a gift, or make a contribution?
Of course it does. What I am often reminded of, even most recently at my gallery opening last weekend, is how easy it is for me to brush away or decline an offer of generosity from another. Can you relate?
A woman looking at the collection below in the photo, (Receiving) was drawn to this particular series, but didn't feel like she could afford them right now. Her friend saw how fond she was of the pieces and offered to purchase them for her. The woman quickly declined. I saw the disappointment in the friend wanting to make a contribution and the woman not feeling like she could have what she wanted....the circle of abundance was broken.
Everything is a reflection of our inner world. As I witnessed this interaction, it had me be present to where in my own life was I stopping the flow of abundance by not being willing to fully receive from others. You see, it is easy and for the most part automatic for me to see where giving is part of abundance. I have and therefore I can give. It has been a process and continues to be a process for me to just as freely receive.
Art is a form of expression and serves as a reminder of a feeling that we want to bring forward each time we see the piece. These images hung together serve as a beautiful reminder of the journey to receiving fully and continuing the flow of abundance.
Do you or someone you know want to be present ongoingly to the path of Abundance?
